Zimbabwe National Chamber of CommerceYou’ll remember that around this time last year, The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) held an ICT Sympiosium. At the event Twenty Third Century Systems spoke about the lessons they learnt expanding into Africa, which we posted here. Well, ZNCC is back with another ICT Sypmposium for 2012 to be held on the 3rd of April in Harare.

Called the “2012 ZNCC ICT Symposium and Exhibition” the purpose of the event according to ZNCC is to bring awareness to the role that technology plays in the transformation of business in modern day Zimbabwe.

In terms of target audience, the announcement of the event doesn’t specifically mention but has the following statements to guide you:

The Symposium is a premier event that is set to bring together leaders in business, government and academia to impact economic and social development through the exchange of knowledge and ideas on ICT

and

…this symposium will provide business leaders and IT executives with world class research, advice and direction to help them drive excellence in their business intelligence and performance management strategies.

Speakers at the event this year include the Zimbabwe ICT Minister Neson Chamisa, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Aurthur Mutambara, Wagoneka  (Director: Microsoft Enterprises Business for East and Southern Africa), Mukusha (President Computer Society of Zimbabwe), Ndlovu (Westchase Consultants)

You can find out more about the event here and here.

      To network with them, maybe..

  2. No thank you

For US$100 i can attend a premier ICT expo in South Africa where real ICT players, and not just one or two, will be showing serious stuff and not just desktops. The event is a waste of time.

A 100 bucks you can keep your symposium to yourself thank you. Those who attended the recent MS Developer Network, how much was that? That was far more relevant and important than this symposium hot-air.

being ZNCC sponsored and looking at the profile of presenters, I doubt it is targetting hands-on techies, but decision makers and higher-level IT people. Cant be compared to the M$ developer day
