Nigel Gambanga Avatar

We are back with the latest edition of the weekly podcast. In this episode, we were joined by a guest from the Techzim community, Stanley Choto.  We discussed some of the highlights in the past week in local technology such as the launch of the Econet Dial-a-Doc service, the current state and future of Zimbabwean telecoms, the EcoSchool Academy from mobile operator Econet, m-learning in Zimbabwean schools, the MobiLedger app for EcoCash and local Value Added Services.

We have a giveaway for anyone who can tell us one of the things suggested by our guest as a focus area for future telecoms strategy in Zimbabwe. Please feel free to leave your answer in the section below, together with any comments you might have about the podcast.

Econet is innovating & investing in the future through value added services so i honestly think this trend of ecosolar, eco e.t.c is really a good move they are seeing that the MNO industry is under pressure from services like viber & whatsapp eating revenue from sms & voice so they are moving in the right direction

Interesting discussion. What I picked from the guest is that operators should concentrate on fixed and mobile service bundling where services are on one platform and a customer pays a lumpsum.
