Less than a month ago we mentioned how DEMO Africa, the annual tech startup showcase would be hosting an event in Harare as part of the preliminary road show across the entire continent.

Some of the details which hadn’t been provided regarding this meetup have been communicated by DEMO Africa. The Harare meetup is still slated for the 24th of June and it will be held at one of the local tech hubs, Hypercube Hub. This was the venue for the 2014 DEMO Africa roadshow stopover, so it’s the same place that most people had expected anyway.

It’s a pre-pitch event and it’s been opened to startups from the whole Southern African region. All participating start-ups will receive feedback on their projects and there’s the chance to pitch to a panel of judges made up of people from the local tech industry.

One start-up from the shortlisted teams that pitches to these judges will get a direct nomination and an all expenses paid trip to the DEMO Africa conference scheduled for this Spetember in Nigeria. This same format and arrangement for startup selection has been used in Accra and Nairobi where the DEMO Africa roadshow has already been held. Start-up teams can now register to interact with the DEMO Africa team in Harare.
