UNICAF is one of the most generous scholarship Programmes available. The programme supports students that are domiciled in Africa and provides opportunities for studies towards various distance learning degree programmes awarded by European, British and American universities. Currently UNICAF provides scholarships for the online programmes offered by the University of South Wales in the UK, a Leading United Kingdom Institution, and the University of Nicosia in the EU and Marymount California University in the USA.

Students can choose either of these institutions while applying, and the application can be done by visiting www.unicaf.org/Nigeria/Scholarships.

The decline of public support for universities and at a time when student visa regulations are getting tougher, the opportunity to tap emerging markets through online delivery models is surely something universities cannot ignore. UNICAF through its bespoke partnership model is aiming to be the catalyst in online education in emerging markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa.

UNICAF Scholarship programme is a unique partial scholarship programme for Africans domicile in Africa, with the intention to engage in a continuing higher education programme, and still combine this with work and other personal objectives and activities.

Unicaf Campus

    Thank you,

I think we need verification from another source. Considering its a sponsored article, it does make sense to ask for verification from the person who paid you. Find an independent 3rd part to very such things

    1. Okeke Vincent

Hello Purple, i have provided you link to the site of the said institutions where they listed UNICAF as their official partner for these programmes, i believe no other form of verification could be more meaningful.

In case you missed it, see it here: Here is a link on the University of South Wales Official website listing UNICAF as its official partner: http://www.southwales.ac.uk/study/study-online/ and https://unicaf.southwales.ac.uk

      Thanks

I have seen these guys advertising, they are sort of very aggressive and I wonder where the catch is. But one can easily verify with the Universalities direct which to me is the easiest and surest way to do it!

I did call the uni but unfortunately the lines where closed! I wanted to verify if the scholarship is paid in full or what because here its saying 80% of it, who then pays the remaining 20% and at what cost?

Nice attempts. Please check your time zone and compare with that of the country you are calling to ensure you are calling during work hour. Also, here is a link on the University of South Wales Official website listing UNICAF as its official partner: http://www.southwales.ac.uk/study/study-online/ and https://unicaf.southwales.ac.uk

I believe this should also be a more profound form of verification.

how do they make money, where do they get their money, how do they benefit from giving out scholarships, are the degree programs they offer worth the paper they are written on.

    1. Okeke Vincent

Depending on your form of payment, you could enjoy up to 80% off. UNICAF is the authorized partner for the said institutions for distance and online learning.

      1. Macd Chip

Then stop advertising it as Scholarship, most people here are familiar with scholarships which you do not pay anything, you just attend.

        1. Okeke Vincent

Hello Macd Chip, please be advised that scholarships must not be 100% in full, there were times we did that though. However, scholarship could be partial, full etc.

Go to any of the listed Universities, you pay 100% the actual cost, without any single discount, through UNICAF, you get up to 80% discount.

That is not ok for you?

          1. Macd Chip

Okay! So do not advertise it as scholarship then, When you get a scholarship, all your fees get paid for. Thats how we understand it here.

You are in business, so explain your business model and where and when people pay

            1. Okeke Vincent

Hello, you have the option to spread your payment throughout the period of your studies (Installment). You also have the option to pay one-off, quarterly, bi-quarterly, etc.

We have various sources of payment collections which includes online and offline.

  7. G

so basically this is not a scholarship, its a method of payment, i dont get this at all, what is the primary business of unicaf, how do you make your money. where does the 20% go to when i get a 80% scholarship. do u get any of the 20% i pay

    1. Okeke Vincent

Hello G, like i stated earlier. please be advised that scholarships must not be 100% in full, there were times we did that though. However, scholarship could be partial, full etc.

Who 20% goes to is nothing you should be worried about as you have nothing to do with that. UNICAF is the authorized recruitment/student enrollment partner for the above listed Universities for their distance learning and online learning programmes. You can verify from the institutions directly or from the links on the site of the institutions – here is a link on the University of South Wales Official website listing UNICAF as its official partner: http://www.southwales.ac.uk/study/study-online/ and https://unicaf.southwales.ac.uk
Here is also a link on the Marymount California University website listing UNICAF as its official partner for recruitment and distance learning programme: http://www.marymountcaliforniauniversity-online.com/

      1. macd chip

What is your business model then? Definately you are not a charity organisation. Are you part of the United Nations??

        1. Okeke Vincent

We are not part of United Nations

      2. G

so u make money from the 20% that i pay

  8. Imprezza

Simple questeion is what does UNICAF stand for. the UN part plays with your mind thinking its a United Nations or anything of that sort scholarship thing. Its not. Ask them what it stands for and you will never get the answer you expect. Do you know that UNICAF has a UNICAF University. Then you do the math on who is recruiting who to learn with a partnered university kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

    1. Okeke Vincent

Imprezza, UNICAF is the owner of the UNICAF University, it is currently at its full functional capacity in Malawi, and should be in more countries too. We hope someday to be operational at Zimbabwe. Unicaf is an offshoot of University of Nicosia, Cyprus (http://www.unic.ac.cy/ or http://www.universityofnicosia-online.com/), with the abbreviation, ”UNIC”. The extension UNICAF is a combination of UNIC AFRICA, hence, UNIC-AF – UNICAF.

The idea behind UNICAF is to provide highly affordation cost of learning, and also, easily accessable medium of learning to students in Africa. As a matter of fact, thousands of Africans from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa are already benefiting from the UNICAF scholarship problem.

At some point, application from Zimbabwe may be stopped, as there are limited quota allocation to your country.

I hope you seize the opportunity in earnest.

      Thank you
      Thank you

  9. Benson

The catch for UNICAF here is likely that the costs of your study is around 20-25% hence the “scholarship” part lol you did have paid the full amount of your enrollment. Its like buying goods under BOGOF Buy-One-Get-One-Free yet the price of one is double.

    1. Macd Chip

That is the best way to say it. There is no scholarship here! Just a new way trying to trick people to pay their uni fees

  10. Jeeshi

Thanks to share this articles and very nice post, the most of contents can be peas full for me.I really enjoyed the post.

Well I am one of the people who did my homework on this about 18 months ago, joined, entered into a payment arrangement, paid my 20% for each module and UNICAF paid its 80%. Proud to say I am at the final ( Thesis Level) of my M. Ed Admin and Leadership with the University of Nicosia. The best decision I have made recently. Check this link for my progress by late last year: https://www.unicaf.org/back-again-with-another-unicaf-success-story/

  12. Pilirani

I guess UNICAF is not welcome in Zimbabwe, leave it and we Malawians will enjoy it to the fullest. As Okeke said, it’s not always that a scholarship should be 100%. Your knowledge is probably limited but that does mean the little you know is the truth. Mostly, those who talk I’ll about programmes like these are the ones who have nothing to do with it and they’ve nothing to lose or gain.

  13. Abe M. Tate

Thank you very much for this splendid opportunity initiated for mainly African students through the UNICAF 80% scholarship offer. However please let me know the meaning of the acronym; UNICAF.

I am sure all who were sounding skeptical about Unicaf meant well. Their questions a re coming from a good place of trying to verify if indeed the university is legit. The money situation in Zimbabwe is such that you can not afford to have money “taken” because you lacked wisdom.
However..I could not help but feel the way questions were being put was accusatory. Thank you for answering all questions regardless. We hope all zim students who have benefitted will come forward and iron this one put.
