JumpStart CommunityToday, we have some exciting news that we know tech entrepreneurs, developers, designers and others among you would love to hear. At the end of this week, JumpStart, an initiative we’re part of, will be holding its inaugural event at the Harare Club in Harare.

In one sentence, JumpStart is a community driven initiative for mobile and web technology entrepreneurs, tech professionals, investors and other individuals and organisations involved in the information technology industry in Zimbabwe.

The initiative is building on the gains and momentum realized from the BarCamp event held last year and the ZOL Startup Challenge with the intention to have more regular monthly events and tech meet-ups for the tech community. The initiative is not for profit and will be coordinated by a team of volunteers, and support from local (and some out of Zim) technology companies.

The team is composed of some amazing people who are all in one way or another working to ‘create’ on the mobile and web platforms locally and International. But the actual ideas and value from JumpStart won’t just come from this team; it will come from all the individuals, startups, investors and established tech companies in Zimbabwe’s tech ecosystem that also see the need for such initiatives.

You can read more about the initiative on the first blog post here on www.jumpstart.co.zw

To attend Friday’s event (that’s 20 January) you can register for it on the JumpStart event page.
