The cloud buzz is over.Serious corporates are avoiding it, unless its private/closed and that area of business has suffered after the NSA Snowden leaks. Especially where IP and important data are concerned. For the small business with little or no IP value it is inconsequential. But for a significant entity that’s a favourable target for US competition, influence or information… THEY’RE ALL AVOIDING THE CLOUD.

Avoiding cloud even if that cloud is provided by a local player like Utande, ZOL, Africom?

You are deeply mistaken, we have just started to scratch the surface with cloud solutions, it’s a solution guaranteed to save companies a lot of money especially when it comes to buying hardware. Well most of that money can now go into your adaptive firewalls etc “security”. It’s all the same, instead of having a PC or a thin client at your desk, they both still can get jacked if your security is not adaptive.

I really dont get the hype about this forum its so expensive for some people, you guys you talk about networking, connect, engage, contribute and all with who really thats the question, Am sure the people who will attend the forum are people who are well off/got the money. Take a look at countries like India and south africa some of these forums are for free or affordable and they really generate great thinkers. For us as a country to move forward and embrace ICT we should at least make these forums affordable or for free
