Here are the highlights from the second edition of Emerging Ideas’ Pitch Night Bulawayo

The First Pitch Night Bulawayo ignited a blazing fire whose flame keeps getting hotter and stronger among the Bulawayo community with each Pitch Night.

The second run of the Emerging Ideas Pitch Night Bulawayo Powered by RTG Inspirations was held on Friday 3 June in the Rainbow Hotel Presidential Conference Room.

Once again saw the room packed to the rafters and the #PitchByo trending on Twitter as an enthusiastic, vibrant and receptive community came out to rally behind the cause of “Rebuilding Bulawayo 3 Ideas at a Time”.

The pitchers also held up their end of the bargain by remarkably delivering their amazing innovations.

From a “magical” meal delivery startup which left the crowd’s mouths watering (literally) to a startup that helps to Beta test other startups, and rounding off with a startup that offers treatment which removes wrinkles (Microdermabrasion) among its diverse portfolio of hair and beauty treatments. Bulawayo entrepreneurs never cease to amaze!

The curious crowd settled down and relaxed while enjoying the delicious snacks and weather perfect coffee provided by the Rendezvous Café,   free Make- up, manicure, massages and hairstyling demos from one of the startups lined up to pitch later in the evening.

The first pitch was by Ayanda with her startup called Foodie. It’s an online platform that connects people with a deep appreciation for food (foodies) with great meals whereby users sign up, order meals, give their location and in no time at all their meals are delivered by Foodie delivery people.

Next up was Thamsanqa’s X- Beta, a platform with curated users willing to test and try out new products and services in the market.

X- Beta helps to solve the challenges faced by new businesses and startups in getting users as these are essential in the launch of a product or business and can be the difference between success and failure.

The last pitch was delivered by Mr and Mrs Dube presenting their startup – House of Faith- a hair salon and beauty spa.
