Imagine 400GB additional storage for your phone all on one microSD card? It’s possible now thanks to Western Digital’s latest SanDisk microSD card release.

The company announced today its 400GB SanDisk microSD card currently the world’s highest-capacity microSD card for use in mobile devices. Western Digital says the card is ideal for Android smartphone and tablet. It can hold up to 40 hours of Full HD video and can transfer data at speeds of up to 100MB/s, which is really ultra fast by today’s standards.

According to the announcement the company achieved this by leveraging its “proprietary memory technology and design & production processes that allow for more bits per die.”

In terms of price, the 400GB card is going for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $249.99 in the US. If you’re going to want to own one here in Africa, best chances are to bring one through someone travelling, otherwise prepare to pay a 50% premium at the very least.

Western Digital Corporation is one of the industry-leading providers of storage technologies. It makes memory cards, memory sticks, external hard drives and other storage devices. It’s main competitors include Seagate, NetApp and Arrow Electronics.

There is a chance you once got the most recent information at some point Sagi. Sadly on this one you are misdirected and lost. Key word: MICRO-sd, dont confuse with SD. There’s SD then there’s MICRO-SD. Run a search.
