A Zim Health Organisation Is Looking For Developers For An App That Supports People Living With HIV

Developers at a tech event in Zimbabwe

A local organization, Organization for Public Health Interventions & Development (OPHID) is looking for developers who can develop an Application (App). OPHID is a “Zimbabwean organization that develops and implements innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen the provision of quality HIV prevention, care, and treatment services”.

OPHID, through the FACE Consortium, works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) in implementing these interventions.

It, therefore, enables communities to access to comprehensive Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health Services through the support of USAID.

What is OPHID looking for?

OPHID seeks to develop a Client ART Preparedness App (the CAP App).  This app supports People Living with HIV to ‘Get On – Stay On – Live On’ HIV treatment for life.

KEY DELIVERABLES

1) Design an interactive application suitable for a mobile phone platform that supports a client’s preparedness to start HIV treatment (Client ART Preparedness). Existing content to be converted into a user-friendly interactive Mobile App in English and Shona that supports clients to plan for and achieve HIV treatment goals over time.

This would include:

  1. Support user-centred design of App using existing technical content in English and Shona.

  2. Design of dashboards to support monitoring of App use.

  3. Support pre-testing of the App

  4. Finalise and support launch App

  5. Train key personnel at OPHID to be able to access App content, make updates and modifications as required over time.

OPHID’s Timelines

As OPHID has the content of the CAP App developed, we seek to engage with a service provider that is capable of producing the original App prototype for testing by July 1, 2018.
