Xiaomi’s Mi Play Is A Stunning Phone: Limited Ecocash Offer Available

I must confess I am a Xiaomi fanboy. The company has gained quite the reputation when it comes to selling budget but well-made devices. I use a number of Xiaomi devices in my everyday life and I must confess it is a reputation well earned.

Some members of the Xiaomi family

Their budget phones, however, tend to be rather similar in shape and design. The Redmi series of phones is particularly guilty on this front. In fact sometimes, apart from a very few tweaks, the only real difference between certain models is just the software. I mean the company has so many Snapdragon 625 powered devices even I cannot recall them all.

Then along came the Mi Play

The Mi Play is a fresh breath of air

The Xiaomi Mi Play is a break from this conservatism. Its design appears to have been inspired by the tried and tested Samsung Galaxy S line but it is implemented in an original way. The Mi Play is quite the breath of fresh in the Xiaomi phone line up. Introduced in December last year the phone has been on sale only for a few weeks.

Let’s talk specifications

  • The device comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM.
  • It is an LTE device this is still 2019 after all
  • It can take two nano SIM cards or alternatively one SIM card and an SD card.
  • It has a 5.84 inch Full HD display with 2280 x 1080 Resolution on a capacitive screen
  • It runs MIU 10 on top of Android 8.1
  • A Helio P35 Octa-core to drive this
  • Two rear cameras with a 12.0MP main camera plus a 2.0MP rear camera sensor
  • Rear fingerprint sensor
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Sensors include: E-compass, Fingerprint Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, Gravity Sensor, Distance Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Accelerator, Gyroscope
  • A body made up of mostly glass
  • Type-C port

Extensive Network support

The Mi Play excels in the Network support department. You can use this device on literary all mobile networks in Zimbabwe and I mean all including Powertel and Africom which use CDMA. According to Gearbest, this device supports the following networks/bands:

GSM B2/3/5/8, CDMA1X BC0
WCDMA B1/2/5/8, TD-SCDMA B34/39, CDMA EVDO BC0
TD-LTE B34/38/39/40/41, FDD-LTE B1/3/5/7/8

Where and how to buy?

The phone typically sells for around $220 but Gearbest has it on promotion for $205 including shipping to Zimbabwe.  You will need a Visa/MasterCard to complete the purchase. Once it’s shipped it takes around 30 days to be delivered to you which is done via the Post Office. You will have to pay duty to ZIMRA but since the government likes to maintain the 1:1 fiction you can pay using swipe/Ecocash.

The Ecocash Offer

I being a generous fellow am willing to help a limited number of people to buy the phone using Ecocash/ZIPIT from Gearbest. The phone will be bought in your name and send to your address. When it arrives your local Post Office will tell you to come to collect the package whereupon you will be asked to pay duty.

If you are interested please take the following steps:

  • Get in touch with me either via email to garikaib which is my gmail handle or WhatsApp +263772 473 953
  • If I give you the go ahead send your actual legal name ( the Post Office will need to see ID before giving you the parcel), Postal Address
  • and most importantly send the $725 Ecocash amount ( ZIPIT also available)
  • I will immediately make the order and send you the details
  • A tracking number for the package will be sent to you once the package has been shipped

Please do nothing has changed phones are not on the list of items that pay duty in forex you should dispute this. If phones were on that list their prices would suddenly balloon overnight in shops
