ZIMRA Statement On Strike By Their Employees

ZIMRA has just sent out a statement in response to reports including ours that their workers are on strike. They don’t deny that there is industrial action by their employees but rather dismiss some allegations that were not really made or at least that we are not aware of:

PUBLIC NOTICE ON SOCIAL AND DIGITAL MEDIA CLAIMS THAT ZIMRA EMPLOYEES ARE ON STRIKE

Contrary to reports that are circulating on some social and digital media platforms, ZIMRA remains open for business as a provider of essential public services. Management is currently engaging its worker representatives to find ways to mitigate the challenges of the current economic situation to staff.
