I personally think a university degree is relevant in some but not all fields. Society has come to accept that you need a degree to excel in any field but this is misleading. Take the field of IT for instance particularly Software Development. The only thing a university degree will teach you in the foundation. 95% of the stuff you have to learn yourself and the technologies keep changing everytime.
