Zimbabwe is set to introduce its own set of drone regulation before the end of the year. This follows the increased use of this form of technology. We have seen some drone legislation being introduced in South Africa, the question though is whether most or all of it will be adapted to the Zimbabwean environment by our own regulator and lawmakers.

Under increasing inquiries from a growing and anxious number of people and companies interested in operating drones, the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe confirmed to this writer that they are at an advanced stage in developing regulations for this technology to cover the Zimbabwean territory. Indications are that by early August 2015 we could expect a public announcement on the matter.
