Press release: Chips Computing wins top Pastel Business Partner award

Chips Computing ServicesChips Computing Services, which represents Sage Pastel in Zimbabwe, was named top international Sage Pastel business partner for 2010-11 at an awards dinner held earlier this month at the Mount Grace Hotel in Magaliesberg, South Africa.

It won the award ahead of Sage Pastel business partners in 52 countries around the globe.

Awards were made to the top 15 international business partners, who came from as far afield as Australia, Cyprus, Nigeria, Malta and Kenya and from as close as Botswana and Mauritius, in recognition of their dedication and hard work during the past financial year.

Winners of the awards are determined by achievement of individual sales targets and renewals revenue. The awards acknowledge the contribution international business partners have made to the growth and success of Pastel Evolution, Pastel’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution.

Zimbabwean company Chips Computing Services took first place, followed by Pastel Distribution from Namibia in second place and Usage Business Solutions, which operates in Australia and New Zealand, in third place.

The Pastel Business Partner awards have been held annually for the past 10 years. This year, however, was the first time South African and international business partners were honoured at the same event.

Chips Computing Services managing director Rob Watson said he was pleased his company had  retained top position ahead of so many other international Sage Pastel business partners.

“It feels good to know we are at the top, as the top Sage Pastel international business partner,” Mr Watson said.

“This achievement reflects the hard work of our staff and dealers and the appreciation that Zimbabwean companies have of Pastel accounting packages, which are easy to use and well suited to Zimbabwean business requirements.

“It reflects in particular the appreciation there is locally of Pastel Evolution and Pastel Partner, which really are top products that can be readily adapted to suit all types of business, through its combination of core modules and modules designed for specific sectors.

“Our expertise and back-up services make Pastel software attractive packages to use, since back‑up services are readily available from us and our dealer network locally,” Mr Watson said.
