Soccer 24 launches Zim soccer app providing latest league scores & team info

It’s the little things beyond the match day action that make soccer an awesome sport. From team lineups, to never ending debates on which team is better.

The latest sports news plays an important role in all this soccer madness, but we can’t forget how crucial the latest score is, especially because you can’t watch all the games.

For local soccer, this challenge has always been very significant. So it’s not surprising that someone eventually came up with a solution. Soccer 24, the platform dedicated to bringing all the latest in local football, online, recently launched its own Soccer 24 App. This follows Footballzone, another Android App and magazine launched by the team behind Soccer 24.

Currently available for Android only, this app offers the latest match results for Zimbabwean soccer games and works pretty much the same as other match update platforms like Livescore. By tapping on a specific match you can also get additional information on the location and the specific tournament for that game.

The app has the option for three cup campaigns that you can follow, namely Chibuku Super Cup, AFCON 2017 Qualifiers and the Zimbabwean Premier League.

But that’s not the only feature being delivered by the app. Users also benefit from news updates that are fed from the Soccer 24 site, something that complements the Soccer 24 platform’s objectives to keep Zimbabwean soccer fans updated on everything happening on and off the field.

Another feature that ought to score points with the app’s users are the team lineups for the respective teams, a feature that also complements a section for team news. You can also single out a specific team as favourite, and keep track of the top teams in a specific league.

The app also comes with options for activating notifications on certain team alerts and general sports news. this cool feature is pretty much what hardcore soccer fans have come to accept as the standard for keeping tabs on soccer info and team news, and at the same time it gives Soccer 24 a chance to share alerts on its published stories, over and above what social media has already been doing for it.

One feature that has been queued up for the app, but isn’t yet functional, is the Statistics feature. With sports having transformed into a data intensive past time, this feature ought to give the Soccer 24 App a huge point of difference in local sports news and information, depending on how it will be displayed and delivered on the app.

Do you have any thoughts to share on the Soccer 24 App? It is available on Google Play and you can follow this link to download it.

Nice app but the IAPs should make data plans for these nice local apps because they are only promoting the usage of apps like WhatsApp e.t.c .Once thousands of users are using the app due to low data use, we can then start thinking of monetising.

great move, all the best. as a means to monetize they should also look at Pretoria-based Streamit360 who livestream sporting events. they could create a niche with a vod sports offering for zimbabwe. looking for the first zimbabwean tech startup to list on zse in the next 5 years
