WhatsApp Will Soon Introduce A ‘Mark as Read’ Feature Within Its Notification

WhatsApp could soon add a new option shortcut feature in the notifications of your WhatsApp. The messaging app is getting a similar functionality to other apps such as Gmail with a ‘Mark As Read’ button in notifications.

When you receive a WhatsApp notification, you will see a new option called ‘Mark As Read’ below the content of the message. This means is that you will be able to mark a WhatsApp message as read right within your Notification Center even without accessing the app itself.

Before the ‘Mark As Read’ option, only the ‘Reply’ option appeared as the only shortcut in WhatsApp.

The ‘Mark As Read’ feature will definitely come in handy to dismiss those ‘OK’s’ or ‘Lol’s’ or ‘Haha’s’ messages that you may get from time to time. While you can dismiss the notification, marking it as read will let the sender know that you have seen their message.
