ZOL announces yet another scheduled maintenance update for 5 July

It seems not a week goes by without ZOL subscribers receiving a maintenance update for their internet service provider. The latest heads up regarding maintenance was sent out today and reads;

Dear Customer.

There will be network maintenance affecting services from 5/7/20 22:00hrs to 6/7/20 06:00hrs.

We apologise for any inconveniences caused.

Whilst scheduled maintenance is something customers occasionally expect, it doesn’t seem to be occassional when it comes to ZOL these days. The fact that every week or every other week you can’t use the internet you’re paying for is pretty frustrating and has become increasingly harder to work around.

As a ZOL customer myself, the most frustrating thing is that despite these maintenance updates the service doesn’t seem to be getting better. In fact for over a fortnight now, none of the 5 phones being used where I stay can download applications from the Google Play Store. I doubt that will be fixed after the maintenance update but I hope it is.

To make matters worse, I reached out to ZOL customer support regarding this issue on Tuesday and the support team read but are still yet to reply at the time of writing.

So not only is the service not working as advertised but when customers attempt to then get help it’s as if they are direct messaging an unrequited love interest. Fantastic!
