Zim Developers calling for speakers at conference, various topics to be covered, you probably can contribute

The Zim Developers Community is calling on speakers who are interested in sharing their knowledge at a conference to be held later in the year.

ZimDevs hosted a, dare I say, successful DevFest earlier this year and will be keeping the momentum going.

The Sibanye ZimDev Conference (#SibanyeZimDevConf) will be held in September and will cover a variety of topics. The theme is Cultural Tech Fusion and I believe that should give you an idea as to what it’s all about. If you think you have something to contribute, do reach out to them.

These are the categories that will be covered:

  • Data Science and AI
  • Digital Currency and FinTech
  • Tech Entrepreneurship
  • Cybersecurity
  • Mental Health
  • Practical Lab Sessions
  • Web 3 Technologies
  • Local Tech Communities
  • Other

At the digital innovation profiling event we attended, it was confirmed just how poor we are at sharing ideas and knowledge in the startup ecosystem in Zimbabwe. So, if you have information that you know would benefit many an aspiring entrepreneur, developer, data scientist, etc, do heed this call.

There are limited places available and applications close on the 14th of July. You might want to send that application to speak at the conference now.

Register to be a speaker here.

Here is what the organisers say about the event:

The Sibanye Zim Dev Conf is a pioneering technology conference that serves as a global melting pot for innovative thinkers, inspired developers, and dedicated learners. This event strives to provide a platform for fostering creativity, collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of technology. Set against the backdrop of diverse cultures, the conference draws experts from around the globe to discuss key advancements and challenges in various areas of tech.

I have 2 cents chaidzo. If you add that to 98c panotobudawo $1. The problem is these events dzinoitwa in Harare. Traveling from BeitBridge to Htwn for that is not easy iwe usina inokwana kana Sasai bundle. I hope this one will be streamed to YouTube or saved somewhere.

    My 2 cents 😎😂

It all comes to why they are hosting the Dev conference. If to share tech Information they publicise it in every way possible. Unless it’s fundrasing scheme where physical presence with a token is required

Just received confirmation, it’s actually a live event so we’ll all be hooked to our screens.

Let the imposter syndrome kick in. I think I misplaced my 2 cents 👀

My suggestion is, considering this is a Developers gathering, we should see a lot of Tech being employed to enable remote speakers to make contributions, being beamed live on screen………….my 2 cents

      Cool, working on it.

Please may they setup a mailing list page, so that those that want to attend/watch can add themselves. Too often, we only find out after the events are over.

    1. Leonard Sengere

I have relayed the feedback to them.

  4. Tendai Njila

Can the event include other areaa that require tech applications, such as the minerals industry?
