Yesterday evening ended with a cocktail celebration sponsored by Africom to officially close ICT Africa in 2010. As is the tradition, the Thomson Publications best exhibition award is given to the ICT Africa best exhibitor on this night.

This year, the award has been scooped by Axis Solutions, a Harare based ICT solutions company. Axis has been in the news lately for being one of the two authorized sellers of the fiscalisation devices introduced by Zimbabwe Revenue Authority some weeks ago.

Speaking after winning the award, Axis Solutions CEO, Mr. Brian Mukudzavhu, said he left really honoured. He gave tribute to the Axis Solutions team and some partners who he said had put in a lot to create the winning design.

“As a team, our innovative design and commitment at the exhibition shows the direction Axis Solutions is taking. We’re a team committed to excellence in providing innovative ICT solutions,” he explained.

The Thomson Publications best exhibition award is a floating trophy. It was won by Zimbabwe Online in 2009.

It appears internet has become the disrupt innovation Global and this is what we have been waiting for in Zimbabwe since its almost that one cannot do without it and we now see a lot of upstarts coming on the scene with different ideas about what they want to offer the market I hope we have some kind of standard watchdog so that people don’t loose their money when they invest in some of these new solutions coming in the market.
