Liquid Telecom CEO Nic Rudnick makes list of 50 African Trailblazers

Liquid Telecom CEO Nic Rudnick was named one of the talented and resolute persons who “lead Africans into the Africa of tomorrow” in the latest edition of The Africa Report. This is a magazine by Groupe Jeune Afrique, a publication house that focuses on the African business environment.

He has been recognised for his vast experience in telecoms and leadership at Liquid Telecom which now has over 20,000 km of fibre and satellite network across Africa and for his vision to draw the capacity of undersea cables inland.

Liquid Telecom is today connected to the five main undersea cables WACS, EASSY, SEACOM, SAT3 and TEAMs and linking Botswana, DRC, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, UK, Zambia and Zimbabwe via various entities.

Nic Rudnick has been at the helm of Liquid Telecom since 2003 while also serving as director to various Econet Wireless Global subsidiaries worldwide. Because of his exploits, he has been on the list of the Global Telecoms Business’ Power100 100 most Influential Telecoms personalities for three years running and is a serial nominee for the AfricaCom Awards in whose categories the company has won several times.

In turn, Liquid Telecom has been awarded the Best African Wholesale Carrier for three years since 2012 at the Global Carrier Awards.

Other notable personalities on the lists include footballer Didier Drogba, African Billionaires Mo Ibrahim and Aliko Dangote, music legend Hugh Masekela and Ghana actress Yvonne Nelson among others.
