Remember the refreshing content that was Happy Harare? Well, the makers of that video are working on another project, an 8 minute short film this time, called The Sojourner. The interesting thing about this project is that they have chosen to raise funds via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. An unlikely choice locally. We haven’t seen much of those, and the few we noticed didn’t make much from it.
The crew is looking to raise just $3,500 in 30 days for the film, and have so far already raised 11% of it. Locally, short films like this one are usually funded by donors as part of initiatives like the short Film Project. It’s interesting to see these guys try something different. We hope they succeed coz they actually do make great quality stuff and they have quite an experienced crew to guarantee it.
