WhatsApp has been testing out a number of new features. The most recent update allows up to 8 people on video calls. This move I think, was a way to meet the video conferencing demands of the coronavirus era.

WhatsApp is also working on a search by date feature as well as being able to log into one account on multiple devices.

The popular messaging service had been testing out a feature that allows users to add contacts using QR codes. They are now rolling out the feature, giving user the option to immediately share their contact information by scanning a code.

WhatsApp also confirmed that animated sticker will be coming on to the platform. Web and desktop versions of WhatsApp will now have a darkmode option. Finally, KaiOS user will now be able to share statuses.
