Now you no longer have to play a background music on your phone or any other device to record the music for your Instagram stories. The much-awaited feature has just been launched by the Facebook-owned app, Instagram.

Making an announcement through a blog post, Instagram shared that now you can add a soundtrack to your story that fits any moment and helps you express how you’re feeling. The feature comes a week after Instagram unveiled IGTV, a hub for long-form videos.

The new feature

You will now see a new music sticker in the stickers section. In order to add a song to your Stories, just tap on the music sticker and it will open a huge library of tracks from where you can select the perfect song to go with your Stories.

Users can fast-forward and rewind through the track to choose the exact part that fits your story. Users are now able to browse an extensive library of songs that can be added to a photo or video as a Music Sticker. Additionally, songs can also be chosen before capturing a video, so that the desired track and part plays in the background during a recording.

And to spare your friends the hassle of finding out which song you have picked, the music sticker will show the song title and artist name. However, the music sticker feature is only available to Android and iOS users in a few countries.

The feature could make Instagram Stories more fun and make it easier for people to communicate their mood vividly with the help of background music.
