The statement disappointed many Zimbabweans who took to social media to express their displeasure. Here are some things mentioned by a few notable Zimbabweans on the matter:

  1. I think if Zimbabwe was to vote for MultiChoice’s DStv and Kwese TV the new entrant would win because it has captured the heart of many Zimbabweans even if they haven’t used it…i can tell by comments on social media. Besides the govt has to think about this…in the first 6 months of this year we lost $207 mil to SA’s MultiChoice and this was obviously USD. What if we all subscribe to a local Satellite company???

  2. Kwese should just apply for the correct type of license and start operating. Econet are sometimes addicted to this rent-seeking megaphone behavior….

  3. Could Kwese TV be a threat to Zanu Pf 2018 compaign? I’m just thinking along these lines…lol.

  4. I am tired of paying my hard hustled USD to some banks who do not accept Bond for DSTV subs. The charges are also exorbitant, as high as US$5 per bouquet. Kwese I am waiting
