Earlier today, we mentioned how Econet Wireless, the country’s largest mobile operator was experiencing a challenge with its network. Subscribers were failing to make calls and send text messages, and some had taken to social media to vent their frustration.
Econet has now sorted the issue and has sent out an apology on social media and in true mobile network fashion, via SMS as well.

As the apology shows, this wasn’t a problem with whole network, but was experienced by users in some parts of the country. Interestingly the issue of the network disruption started some discussion on how POTRAZ, the telecoms regualtor should deal with such disruptions.
