Dates?

When we initially talked about the hackathon we were positive that the dates we had were correct but they were not yet set in stone. It’s now confirmed – The OneMoney Mobile Financial Services Hackathon will be running from the Friday the 13th (clears throat) until Sunday 15 July.

What are you competing for?

Initially we had no idea what the winning team was being promised but that is all clearer now. The top three teams at the end of the hackathon will get $5000 each. The prize won’t be dished out in cash to avoid situations where winners just squander the money on something meaningless.

Instead the cash prize will be allocated to seeing that each team’s innovation will see the light of day. It will be used to cover costs necessary to ensure winning teams can actually complete their projects and by doing so meaningful learning is encouraged whilst new products are also introduced to the market.
